The Captioning Studio provides theatre captioning to venues across Australia using its GoTheatrical! technology. With over 4 million Australians having a hearing loss, theatre captioning is an accurate text display of a theatre performance in its entirety, including actors' dialogue, ad libs, asides, song lyrics, musical descriptions and other sound effects. With captions being displayed on a plasma screen, GoTheatrical! captioning is provided remotely, so venues simply need an internet connection to facilitate the captioning service. Caption Equipment Kits (comprising plasmas & laptops) are available in some capital cities which venues can acces free of charge. Further information and complete listings of all captioned performances in Australia can be found on their website. Email nari.jennings@captioningstudio.com or telephone (08) 8463 1639.
