Background to this offer:

As anyone who has worked with The Captioning Studio will attest, Go-Theatrical!™ is not just a business - we are genuinely passionate about the benefits of our theatre captioning.

Incredibly, 1 in 6 Australians has a hearing loss (expected to increase to 1 in 4 by 2050). For many, they could not follow the dialogue even with the aid of a hearing loop or other assistive listening device.  However, captioning does enable people with a hearing loss to follow the dialogue – not only that, it can also be used by people for whom English is a second language.

Our dream is simple - to see theatre captioning in all theatres across and, along with it, the enjoyment of live theatre performance by all Australians who are deaf or hearing impaired.

We already provide captioning to a number of enthusiastic major theatre centres across (with more starting next year).  Our challenge now is to assist more venues to offer the service.  It goes without saying that the effort (and cost) involved in actually creating the captions for each production is considerable.  However, if enough venues present captioned performances of the same production, this preparation cost becomes negligible and we are able to offer prices like that above that even smaller regional theatres will find attractive.

It’s worth noting that our captioning system is unique and many theatre patrons and venues are already impressed by our captioning service.  The system is easy for the venue to install and, once installed, requires very little attention for each performance.  We provide a full technical backup service and we can also supply complete captioning display systems to venues to simplify the procurement process.

If you have not already seen Go-Theatrical!™ in action, we would be delighted to provide you with a short demonstration over the internet.  We can also provide an information pack, together with contact details for consumers and theatres who are using our service, so that you can learn more about the service, its impact on patrons and how to get it up and running at your venue.

We would welcome your feedback on this initiative and would be delighted to discuss any aspect of our service with you.
